Balance!

Hi everyone

I had a pasty for my lunch today, not that interesting I know but it was a bit too salty for my taste and this set me thinking about recipes and the art of baking.
A recipe is usually tried and tested, tweaked and perfected until the end result is as delcious as possible. The end product is a perfect balance between all the ingredients, no one taste dominating, a blend just right for the eating.

This is what we are also trying to achieve with our lives I think, a balance between all the things that need our attention and the interesting things we like to do. Too many things that drain our energy and not enough time to have fun, rest and regroup can mean the loss of balance that can eventually lead to ill health.

One of the things that I have noticed with people as they undergo a course of homeopathy is that they naturally find a better balance in their lives. I have also noticed this with myself. Part of what homeopathy does could therefore be summed up as a return to balance.

Hoping for a balanced week!

Deepak Chopra

Hi everyone

I have been reading a book by Deepak Chopra called Overcoming Addictions, the complete mind-body programme for addictive behaviour. A very interesting book I have to say with much to think about.

One of the ideas in this book that has set me thinking is the author's take on the difference between happiness and joy and this is something that I would like to share with you.

Imagine walking down the street absorbed in your anxious thoughts when suddenly you find a £50 note. Lots of ideas would arise as to what you could do with this money, it would seem like a good thing had happened and your feelings would change, most probably those feeling could now be described as happiness. An external event has influenced how you are feeling.

Deepak Chopra explains the difference between happiness and joy in this way; he says that an external event results in an internal feeling of happiness. Where as joy in an inate feeling not dependent on external events, he says it could be described as happiness for no reason!

If we spend time with young children we see that so many things are joyful for them, not because of any external event but because they have the joy inside and this colours how they see the world. Joie de vivre is how we might phrase this and we do all have this inside us. The key is remembering and finding it again.

Deepak explains it all much better and I can throughly recommend his books.

Wishing you joy.

Homeopathy!

Hi everyone

I read a very interesting quote the other day.
It was by Winston Churchill and he said that 'a lie gets half way around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on'. He was speaking in the days long before the technology of today where an email arrives in an inbox almost in the blink of an eye and that inbox can be anywhere in the world. He was so right then and it applies even more today. There is also the fact that bad news seems to travel much faster than good news. Homeopathy has been taking more of a beating lately, we are faced with propaganda and campaigns to discredit what do, news of this sort gathers pace but the good news reporting how well homeopathy works is ignored.

I know that homeopathy works and I hope that many of you do too. Let's tell people of the benefits of being treated in this way and spread some good news around our communities, both real and virtual. 'Let's get our pants on' and make some noise for the good name of homeopathic medicine. Sign those petitions, write to our MPs, tell our stories of the help homeopathy has given us, let's get the buzz going and spread some positivity.

Wishing you a happy, positive week.

Spring is on the way!

Hi everyone

The sunshine has been beautiful this week, just what we needed I think. Everyone has been commenting on how good it is to see the sun and the lovely flowers that tell us that Spring is on it's way.

Winter is the time to regroup, rest and prepare for the busy times ahead. Isn't it interesting that even the least houseproud of us feel the urge to clean at this time of year. What is it about Spring that invites us to don the marigold gloves and get stuck in? I have washed the outside of my office and cleaned the windows, so satisfying.

Health also comes in to focus with the promise of Spring. It really is time to consider what you are going to do about your hay fever this year. Homeopathy offers solutions for the miserable symptoms experienced by those who suffer with hay fever. Why not check out my website special offer page where you will find my best offer so far for hay fever suffers.

Wishing you all a great week.
