Homeopathy - Feel good inside and out...

Homeopathy - Feel good inside and out

 Homeopathy Awareness Week

14th-21st June 2014

Did you know that skin is the largest organ in the body covering about two square metres in total? Skin plays a vital role in our overall well being, it not only protects us, keeps us warm, helps us to cool down and allows us to interact with the world, but it also shows how healthy we are on the inside.
Homeopathy is a complementary therapy that can be used to help with minor skin ailments for all the family.
Homeopathy Awareness Week, from June 14-21, will this year focus on this popular area and how homeopathy may play a part.
Working as a homeopath I find there is a great interest in holistic healthcare and skin complaints are one of if not the most common problems that patients seek homeopathic consultations for.1

”Homeopathic philosophy approaches skin disorders in a holistic way, not just looking at the skin symptoms in isolation. As a professional homeopath I will not necessarily prescribe topical creams or even homeopathic medicines directed towards skin conditions alone but instead I will spend a great deal of time exploring all aspects of an individual looking at how the body is functioning as a whole, including the impact of physical and emotional stress on the skin. Prescriptions are tailored to each individual patient according to their specific symptoms."

I saw all sorts of skin complaints in my time as a pharmacist and this is also the case since I have become a homeopath. Skin conditions from acne, boils, eczema, psoriasis, urticaria, can be very unpleasant and difficult for people to cope with. I myself have struggled with skin complaints for a number of years and I find that homeopathy has offered me relief and help.

If you would like to talk about your particular condition please give me a ring for a free 15 minute chat where we see how homeopathy could help you.

Love, Medicine and Miracles...

Hi everyone

I have been reading a fabulous book called, Love, Medicine and Miracles written by Bernie Siegel who is a distinguished American surgeon.
The book has lots of wonderful information about how we can help our own healing processes and how we can empower ourselves and take control of our illnesses rather than letting our illness take control of us. In the book Bernie talks about the mind, body and spirit connection and how emotions such as fear, loss, anger and loneliness can alter our body chemistry and in some cases lead to physical illness.
This really struck a chord with me because this is what we homeopaths believe too and see in day to day practice.
Our patients tell us their stories and make the connection with how they felt in the time leading up to the beginning of their disease; they come to understand how and why they might have become ill.
Bernie’s patients are cared for with love and understanding, they learn to hope, find joy and work on a positive state of mind. Miracles of healing can happen, and the book has a number of stories about very poorly patients who live far beyond scientific and medical expectations. Please read this book it will have an enormous effect on how you view your health and well being and also how you care for others.

Wishing you a good week.

Preparations for Christmas...

Hi everyone

As we are drawn further and further in to the preparations for Christmas and lose ourselves in lists of things to do; card writing, present wrapping, cake making, house decorating and the general bustle that comes with this time of year let’s not forget what it’s really all about. Christmas means different things to different people but the meaning can be buried under that pile of things to do.

As I hunt for the sellotape and those cards I am sure I bought last week, as time ticks by and I decide that no it’s boughten cake this year, no time left to make one now, I easily forget why I am doing these things.  Let’s give ourselves a break, some space to sit and think; a breather from it all would do us the world of good. Let’s remember what it’s all about.

Wishing you a good week.

The sort of friendships that last a lifetime...

Hi everyone

This week I was very fortunate to be able to see Calendar Girls at the Wadebridge Town Hall. It was a production by the Camhayle Theatre Club and it was excellent. I felt as if I was one of the members of the Knapeley WI sharing in the ups and downs of village life. The story of the pain and sadness of John Clarke’s diagnosis of leukaemia and the celebration of his life with the nude calendar by the ladies of the WI was poignant and truly memorable.

There were many lessons to take away from the evening but for me it was about friendship; the sort of friendships that last a lifetime. As Christmas approaches and we become buried in things to do let’s not forget our friends, the people who are always there for us holding our best interests to their hearts. These are the people who know when we are down but putting on a face for the world, these are the ones who tell us to go see your homeopath you need a remedy!!
Thank you to all our friends and we will be there through the good times and bad because that is what friends do.

Wishing you all a good week.

Today as I was walking in the woods...

Hi everyone

Today as I was walking in the woods in the rain with our dear dog Meg, I was reminded to live in the moment. Meg was having a lovely time sniffing the piles of fallen leaves, listening for things to chase, following trails left by other animals; she wasn’t worried by the rain or the chill in the air. Meg doesn’t have lots of baggage to drag around with her, she lives for the moment she is in and enjoys it. A lesson for me and for us all I think.

The woods were beautiful today, the autumn leaves washed with rain were even more colourful and the quiet was so restful. I am glad that I didn’t miss it by being bogged down with my stuff. Thank you Meg.

Wishing you all a good week.
